So while I’m already fantasising about the costumes I might be able to wear next year, I went fully into geek mode and I’ve been admiring the wonderful costumes of others. Such as last weekend when I attended Dutch X-mas Con and made a lot of photos for CosplayWijzer.
It was nice talking to so many people and seeing the many Christmas-themed characters and costumes. It reminded me I need to be sending out my Christmas cards soon! And a miracle, I even fit inside my Hufflepuff sweater. Even more of a miracle, it’s even hard to tell how incredibly pregnant I am at the moment when I wear black on black with yellow stripes XD I was amazed. So while my own cosplay moments are rare to find at this point in time, I’m still very much involved in the cosplay scene and I can’t wait to be making new costumes again. But first, let’s enjoy the end of the year with Christmas & coziness.
What did you miss if you weren’t there?
Well, apart from the wonderful setting they’d recreated by decorating one of the first halls after the entrance as the village from The Grinch (including entertainers), there was a hall dedicated to cosplay (including a photo booth, 3D booth and the stage for the cosplay competition). There were lots of wonderful goodies and merchandise to be found and there was an option to go ice skating (not real ice but it looked awesome enough). You could visit the Love Doctor for some tips or get the signature of one of the many amazing guests they had invited.
Naturally I jumped on top of the Ghostbusters, as usual, and we joined the HP photoshoot and meet held at the entrance (I didn’t bring Snape fr nothing you know). All in all we had a super fun day. The photo’s I made were all published on CosplayWijzer.
